Treblo and Suno feel like close relatives. Same basic idea — type a prompt, get a song. Similar interface logic. Both easy enough that a complete beginner can get something out in minutes. The differences are in small things: design choices, generation style, how the audio comes out.
That last part matters for mastering. And it turns out Treblo and Suno export audio differently enough that the approach is not quite the same.
How Treblo exports audio — the numbers
I ran four tracks through loudness analysis — two from Suno, two from Treblo, same prompt. Here is what came back:
Treblo:
- Integrated LUFS: -15.6 on both tracks
- True Peak: -2.2 dBTP (track 1) · -5.1 dBTP (track 2)
- LRA (dynamic range): 12.1 LU (track 1) · 4.9 LU (track 2)
Suno for comparison:
- Integrated LUFS: -13.6 and -14.9
- True Peak: -3.8 and -4.0 dBTP
- LRA: 5.4–5.7 LU
Treblo exports considerably quieter than Suno. Spotify targets -14 LUFS — Treblo is already at -15.6, which means the platform will leave your track mostly alone on loudness. Suno at -13.6 will get turned down by about 0.4 LUFS automatically.
Quieter export sounds like a straightforward advantage. In most cases it is. But there is a catch.
The True Peak problem
Treblo track 1 measured -2.2 dBTP. That is close to 0, which is the absolute ceiling.
When streaming platforms encode your WAV to AAC or MP3, intersample peaks — peaks that exist between digital samples — can push above 0 dBFS and cause clipping in the encoded file. The standard recommendation for streaming is to keep True Peak at or below -1 dBTP before upload.
At -2.2, the track is within safe range but tight. One pass through a True Peak limiter before upload removes the risk.
Treblo track 2 at -5.1 dBTP had no issue at all — the cleanest file of the four tracks measured.
So Treblo's True Peak is inconsistent between generations. The LUFS is predictably quiet; the True Peak is not. Worth checking each track before uploading.
The dynamic range difference
The other notable thing: Treblo track 1 had an LRA of 12.1 LU. That is almost double what Suno typically produces (5–6 LU).
LRA measures the difference between quiet and loud sections. A higher number means the track breathes more — quieter verses, louder choruses, less internal compression. Suno applies heavier internal limiting, which flattens that range down to a consistent 5–6 LU across tracks.
For mastering this matters because: a track with 12 LU of dynamic range usually does not need a compressor. Adding one would work against the natural dynamics and make it sound processed. On a Suno track at 5 LU, you are already working with something that has been internally compressed — a limiter and loudness adjustment is enough.
What to do before uploading Treblo tracks
Step 1: Analyze first
Before touching anything, check LUFS and True Peak. Drop the file into WaveDisco Studio — the Analyze tab reads both values before any processing. If LUFS is around -15.6 and True Peak is below -1, you can upload with minimal intervention. If True Peak is above -1, you need a limiter pass.
Step 2: True Peak limiter if needed
Set the ceiling to -1 dBTP. This is a transparent correction — it catches intersample peaks without affecting the rest of the track. On WaveDisco, Quick mode handles this automatically with the correct ceiling for the platform you select.
Step 3: Skip heavy compression on dynamic tracks
If the Analyze tab shows LRA above 10 LU, the track is already dynamic. Resist the urge to compress it flat. That dynamic range is what makes it feel alive. A limiter pass and loudness check is enough.
Step 4: Check the target platform
- Spotify: -14 LUFS, -1 dBTP
- Apple Music: -16 LUFS, -1 dBTP
- YouTube: -14 LUFS, -1 dBTP
Treblo at -15.6 LUFS sits between Spotify and Apple Music targets. For Spotify, this is fine — it will stay at -15.6. For Apple Music (-16), same. You are not over-target on either platform, so normalization will not touch the loudness.
Treblo vs Suno — which needs more mastering work
Suno needs more loudness correction (it exports hotter) but is predictable — the same chain works across tracks because the output is internally consistent.
Treblo needs less loudness work (already quieter) but is less predictable — True Peak varies between tracks, and dynamic range can be very different from one generation to the next. You need to check each track individually before deciding what to do.
Neither is difficult to master. They just require checking different things.
The short version
Treblo exports at -15.6 LUFS — already close to streaming targets, no heavy gain reduction needed. Check True Peak before uploading: if it is above -1 dBTP, run a True Peak limiter. If the track has high dynamic range (above 10 LU), skip the compressor and let it breathe.
